The Cleopatra Beach

Cleopatra Beach is located in Alanya, Turkey. Every year, the beach welcomes many local and foreign tourists. This beach is named after the famous Egyptian Queen Cleopatra. According to known sources, the general from that period gave Alanya and it's surroundings to Cleopatra, as a gift. According to the mentioned information, Cleopatra used to stop at Alanya and swim in the sea when she travelled out into the world.

The Damlataş Beach

Damlataş beach is one of the treasures of Alanya. The whole place exudes history. This is where the Egyptian queen Cleopatra and the Roman emperor Antonius swam! At least according to legend.

Where is Damlataş

You will find the bay at the western bottom of the castle cliff. The entrance is right by the Damlataş Cave.

The bay is known for:

Alanya Public Beach (Galip Dere Halk Plajı)

This beach is located right in the center next to the harbor in Alanya, Turkey. The beach is communally landscaped and all facilities are free. For safety reasons, the municipality has pulled buoys in an area of 200 meters in the swim area. However, with its location close to the nightlife, the beach is not the cleanest in Alanya. In return, the beach is hugely kid-friendly.

The Portakal Beach

Portakal beach is Alanya's eastern beach. It is an extension of the Oba and Tosmur districts. Very varied area characterized by:

  • beautiful planting.
  • long beach promenade.

Why Portakal beach?

This  beach has a different and very beautiful natural structure with rocks and small mini lagoons. Large beautiful bathing jetties allow you to jump directly into the blue sea.

The beach is partly child-friendly due to the natural rocks, which can make it a little difficult to stand firm in the ocean. It is possible to go fishing on the rocks. The beach area ends at the mouth of the Dim Çay River.

The Dim Cay River

The Oasis in Alanya! It is cooler here, the breeze is airy and the water is always ice cold. The Dim çay river is the place where all locals go to live during the hot summer months. Here you can cool off in the river's icy mountain water and enjoy a delicious brunch or lunch. The scenic area offers a variety of restaurants and tea gardens, which are built down the slopes of the valley. Some places even have water slides and other entertainment activities for children.

Where is Dim Cay?

The river is located about 15 km from the center of Alanya, Turkey. On the other hand, it starts approx. 60 km up in the Taurus Mountains. 

Buses run every hour and several organizers ensure transport here either as an excursion or by drop-off.

Cave Dim is located 11 km from Alanya approximately 232 meters above sea level. More particularly, on the western slopes of the mountain Cebelireis. Dim Cave is the second largest cave open for visitors in Turkey.

Dim Dripstone Cave:

  • 360 m long.
  • Consists of 4 galleries.
  • Rich in formations of stalactites, stalagmites and travertines.

At the end of the cave, 17 m deeper than the entrance, there is a small lake with 200 m² of water surface.
